December 1 Virtual Winter Wildlife series — Bears, Walruses and Birds: We've got them all Online 7pm. Alaska does everything bigger and our state-owned and state-operated wildlife refuge program is no different. At nearly 3.3 million acres of protected wildlife habitat in 32 refuge areas, the Alaska Department of Fish and Game manages the nation's largest state refuge program for the benefit of our residents and visitors. Join Joe Meehan, the Lands and Refuges Coordinator, to discover what little-known wildlife refuge areas are near your home and how you can enjoy the rich fish and wildlife resources of these areas, be it hunting, fishing, wildlife viewing, or simply recreating in these natural areas.
